Beta Club

Founded in 1934, the National Beta Club is an academic honor society which acknowledges and rewards outstanding students for their accomplishments in the classroom, leadership qualities, character, and service involvement to school and community.
Here at HCHS, our Beta Club is comprised of students who, because of their worthy character, good mentality, credible achievement, and commendable attitude, have been approved for membership by the executive head of the Hickman County High School; provided, of course, that these students meet the requirements as set in the By-Laws of this organization as appended below.

Invitation to the club shall be made in the Sophomore year or after two consecutive semesters of meeting the standards of membership.

HCHS STANDARDS OF MEMBERSHIP
All students must be performing at or above grade level in order to be eligible for membership. The HCHS academic requirements for membership in the National Beta club are maintaining a 4.0 average.  This means that all grade period averages must be 90 or above.

The service requirements for membership in the National Beta club are five hours of approved service per semester.  You may not roll over hours from Fall semester to Spring semester.  Hours must be earned in their respective semester.

The character and behavioral requirements for membership in the National Beta club require that you have no behavior infractions.  This includes on the bus, at school, and during after-school activities.  Any behavior infractions, including ISS for being tardy to class, will result in your name being removed from the school’s Beta club roster.
